Sadly, I will have none of that this Chinese New Year, as I am far away from home. I will miss the invasion of "reds and golds" decorating my hometown. I will miss the many varieties of cookies which makes its special appearance this time of the year. I will miss the home cooked food by grandma. I will miss the red packets filled with cash to "bless" my new year. Most of all I will family.
But, I still have friends in whom I have come to love and call my family here in Melbourne. Oh yes! We will definitely feast! I must admit it will still be a lil' different, quieter and less celebrated over here in Australia. Nonetheless, we will make most of what we have. So, to usher in some festivities and spread some new year cheer, I decided to decorate my home. I am always an enthusiast when it comes to decorating. Will decorate anything and everything!
Decorating with a budget. Total spent: $8! I am good! |
Tassles! Tassles! Tassles! There can't be too much red and gold during Chinese New Year! |
So, my little "Chinese New Year" corner is complete! |
So, Happy Chinese New Year all! I hope you have the best time with family and loved ones during this season. May this year usher in many great things and adventures. I know mine will be a great one, especially when my God promises me that the best is yet to come. Hope you know He speaks that over you too.
xoxo,
SLG
